Do You Know Your Injector?

Lehman Advanced Dermatology wants you to know what to ask before you get injected.

There are many skincare treatments available to turn back the clock on your skin, such as chemical peels, laser treatments and injectable therapies like Botox and dermal fillers. Though only considered minimally invasive procedures, they still require experience and expertise to be performed safely and effectively.

  • Qualifications vary

Always seek treatment from an injector that has an excellent safety record, unparalleled results, and who regularly attends advanced continuing education training.  An injector with a Licensed Physician in the office directly overseeing safe treatment is also preferable.

  • Is your skincare provider trained in injectable treatments?

Before getting Botox® or dermal fillers, ask your care provider about his or her experience with the injectable you’ve selected.  Request before and after photos to see outcomes.  While good injectors will discuss the risks involved with the procedure you have selected, make sure you feel all your questions have been answered to your satisfaction.

  • Are you looking for quality or a “good deal”?

It’s tempting to try to save money on treatments, but it’s not always the safest way to go.  Some injectors can charge less for services by using non-FDA approved neurotoxins and dermal filler products shipped from foreign countries.  This is not only extremely dangerous, but can also lead to less than desired outcomes.

Buyer beware–if the price seems “too good to be true”–it probably is.
